SC22 Reflections
SC22 was my 13th SC Conference!
At this iteration of the conference, things felt back to “normal” or like the years before the COVID-19 pandemic. Dallas was a familiar city and attendance at the confernce was booming.
My volunteer role this year was the SC22 housing chair which was a different perspective than past volunteer roles. With the housing role, much of the planning and execution begins a year before the confernce. Serving as housing chair was a unique experience, I worked closely with a contractor that provided the housing website and coordination as well as the exhibits and local arrangements teams. We toured dozens of hotels in preparation for the conference! I enjoyed being part of the local arrangemnts team and working with many new people across the HPC community.
This was my first conference as SIGHPC Chair - I’ll post another blog about that with updates on that experience soon!
